Monopolkommission empfiehlt Aufspaltung der Deutschen Bahn Der Staat soll nach Ansicht der Experten nur die Infrastruktur-Gesellschaft der Bahn behalten. Diese soll für Verspätungen und Qualitätsmängel haften.
Düsseldorf Die Monopolkommission legt der Bundesregierung eine Aufspaltung der Deutschen Bahn nahe, um die anhaltenden Qualitätsprobleme zu beheben. „Unzureichender Wettbewerb führt zu weniger Anreizen, eine hohe Qualität sicherzustellen, und ist damit mitverantwortlich für die anhaltend schlechte Pünktlichkeitsstatistik der DB AG“, sagte der Vorsitzende der Kommission, Achim Wambach, dem Handelsblatt.
2018 war ein Viertel aller ICEs und ICs verspätet, auch in diesem Juni lag die Pünktlichkeitsquote mit nur 69 Prozent weit unter den Zielen.
Im Fernverkehr ist der Staatskonzern zurzeit fast konkurrenzlos, nur Flixtrain versucht, ihm auf bislang drei Strecken zwischen Berlin und Stuttgart, Berlin und Köln sowie Köln und Hamburg Konkurrenz zu machen. Vorgängerunternehmen waren daran gescheitert.
Im Güterverkehr wird inzwischen die Hälfte der Transportleistung von privaten Bahnunternehmen gefahren, im Schienenpersonennahverkehr machen DB-Wettbewerber etwa ein Drittel aus.
